Short off season this year. The boys are back in town!
Over Thanksgiving dinner, 2025, I looked across the table and told my husband I was grateful for Mike Brown. This isn’t a bit. This happened. No shade to Tom Thibodeau aka Doug Dimmadome, he did his thing. But one thing Mike Brown and I just get each other about, is friendship. As an avid benchwarmer on my JV basketball team, I know ball, like all things in life, are about friendship. And friendship isn’t 5 guys being cooler than other guys, it’s all the guys being cool with each other. So I knew then, what y’all know now. Knicks in FIVE!
I recently learned the Knicks’ preferred Knick names, here’s what I call them:
JB - is Jalen Brunson, said in a French accent. OG goes by his full name in my house, Ogugua. Mikal is Mikey. Landry is Landro. This list is much shorter than I thought once I realized most of my nick names were the same as theirs but this tees up an important point: We need to talk about Landry Shamet. I was at Round 3, Game 1 and I saw Mr. Shamet hit the 3 ball that changed the tide of the whole playoffs. Witnessing that 3, from one of my favorite dark horse players, who happens to also be a photographer, will stay with me forever. Thank you Mr. Shamet!! The only L from the Knicks this summer (besides the obvious) was how everyone was talking about Tyler Kolek dressing well. Way to show your ass, my favorite magazine! Landry’s got the looks, see!!!!
